After that, we picked rock for about a mile in the mission's driveway in the blistering heat. To be honest, the sun is vicious in this country and this task was pretty miserable. Had it not been for a few great guys to work alongside, this task would have been much worse.
After dinner, we got to hear the Todd's (missionaries from our church) testimony and vision for their family in Haiti. Most importantly, we got to hear about their obedience for God's calling in their lives. God has placed some amazing visions and signs for them and it's pretty amazing to hear and it leaves everyone yearning for more God moments of their own. Barrett Todd is a sports guy just like myself, so I really related to him. his vision for their mission is huge and i love being around big vision and big dreams. I couldn't help but wonder if i'm to play a bigger role in all of this than just spending a week on a mission trip. whether it's to serve and come down every year to help, or give financially, or both I have a feeling that this week won't be the end of my relationship with this great family and the other great families of this organization. I am very confident that we are called to prosper in our country and that allows us to serve and give in ways that most people cannot. I also have a feeling that my wife Jenny and how much she loves the sport of soccer as well as coaching the sport that she may be part of the big picture down in haiti as well because God and Barrett's vision for the compound is to use the sport of soccer to reach thousands of youth in haiti and teach them the sport of soccer, but more importantly teach them the gospel and leadership skills to help change the country of haiti. It's a brilliant plan!
